These caramel pretzel cookies are the perfect mix of sweet and salty and are chewy with a side of crunch. They combine bits of caramel with the delicious crunchiness of pretzels.
This recipe wasn’t planned at all when I made it. I was merely craving something salty and sweet and was searching my shelves for something that might work to satisfy that craving.
I had a craving for something a little salty. But not the regular salted caramel routine, you know? Don’t get me wrong. I love some salted caramel as much as the next guy, but I wanted a little something extra. Which is right about the time my eyes fell on a pack of pretzels. And boom, the perfect mix!
Caramel Crunch Cookies
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1 cup butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup caramel bits
- 1 cup pretzel bits
Preheat the oven to 350F. Cream together the butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
Then slowly incorporate the flour, salt and baking soda.
Add in the caramel bits and pretzels.
Put tablespoon sized dollops on a baking tray and bake for 10 minutes. Serve!
